The location was amazing, so close to the Skogafoss waterfall. Our rooms were comfortable and well stocked with clean towels and a gown incase we wanted to use the hot tub.
The beds were very comfortable.
It’s a self check in hotel and the key code access worked smoothly for the outer door but only one of our rooms. We called Hotel Skogafoss (as instructed) and the staff answered the phone promptly and solved the problem easily.
Complimentary hot drinks were available in the reception are which was a very welcome touch.
Breakfast was a good selection and the staff helpful, cooking more eggs and bacon on request as guests arrived to eat. There was homemade bread.
We ate a good dinner at the nearby Hotel Skogafoss.

Nice parking area. It's really lucky to watch Aurora just outside the accommodation.
We could use a coffee (hot water, hot chocolate) machine in the dining area, even at night. Everything was so convenient.

This family-run hotel is set in peaceful surroundings at the foot of the Eyjafjöll Mountains. Its country-style rooms include free Wi-Fi access and a flat-screen TV.

Steinar itself is not a tourist destination (it's a small hamlet), but it's located close to many attractions of the southern coast, and the surroundings are beautiful - it's located between the ocean and steep rocks. There are no public beaches in the vicinity, and there's no access to the sea, only private pastures up to the horizon.
