My husband and I loved our stay here. We found the room very comfortable albeit a little dated however it was very homely and warm….i liked that. A couple of little things prevented me from giving full marks. The restaurant has a wonderful ambience and the service was excellent. The food was not, in my opinion, the best. I believe there is a new chef so Im sure it will be sorted. We would go back in a heartbeat and stay in this accommodation. The area gave me a feeling of calmness and relaxation. Parking was not a problem.

- The staff could not have been more helpful. We arrived a little later in the day after an 11 hour drive and struggled to get a booking in any nearby restaurants; but Anouk at the front desk happily helped by making a phone call for us - we would highly recommend visiting De Hertog Jan Proeverij nearby.

but it all worked out very well, the poortwoning was even better to stay in with our friends that than rooms in the hotel.
we hade some pretty goods diner aswell in the pub across the hotel. we didn't taste the 50 belgium beers, but had diner twice, and the cook did some amazing work. no complaints about taste etc at all from either of us.
The personnel was perfect and willing to help or advise. The place and the environment around the hotel are excellent, and there are many opportunities to spend time actively. It is also close to Overloon, where you can visit the military museum or ZOO park.
What a nice hotel, nice owners, good service.
Can't think of anything negative, except maybe the squeeking of the bathroom door 😀
