We stayed for three nights in a beautiful suite room at Mirsoum Han and it was an absolutely amazing experience! The employees (Davud & Diyar) always welcomed us with a smile. With their kind, friendly & always solution-oriented attitude they really made us feel very welcome. Smallest suggestions for improvement were implemented literally the next day.
Before I move on to the tasteful rooms I have to mention the breakfast. We have been on the road for 2 weeks and the breakfast here has by far been the most amazing! Medina, the lady in the kitchen, went above and beyond to provide us with a different amazing breakfast every morning. She even made special vitamin drinks for me, because she cared for my pregnancy. I would come back here anytime just for the breakfast!
The stone rooms with high arched ceilings are as beautiful & spacious as shown on the pictures. We had a fire place (Davud helped us set it up every night), an amazing copper bath tub, multiple cozy sitting areas beautifully decorated and a very big modern bathroom. We loved drinking the nespresso coffee provided and just enjoying the beauty of the room. Also the lighting in the room is very romantic. You can see in every corner of the hotel, that it is an acclaimed architect’s work. Also, the sitting area outside has a beautiful view of Mesopotamia.
We would warmly recommend staying in this high quality hotel and love to come back.

A beautiful town, completely different from the Turkiye known by those who visit the coast. Kurdish, not Turkish, with Christian buildings going back to the fourth century and a culture that encompasses many religions and languages. A good base for a day trip (with guide) to Midyat and other local sites. Plenty of restaurants, serving wide variety of foods. Wine shops, selling local wines, but no bars in the old town.
Really wish we had read more before going. Pictures show the beautiful pale-coloured buildings climbing up the hillside but not the fact that the 'roads' are more often steps. Wonderful small narrow streets, a copper bazaar where people were at work, incredible churches, mosques and madrasas - but you need to have good hips and knees!
An excellent Hamam, open for men mornings and evenings, for women in the afternoons.
For anyone interested in early Christianity, in cultural melting pots, or in somewhere unlike most tourist towns, Mardin and Midyat, and the necropolis at Dara, the area is exceptional. Allow about four days and bring sensible shoes.
Good and cheap bus service from the airport, no need to use taxis.

This was the second time to visit Mardin, this time during a small road trip. Mardin is a place were you don not see Western people. Please do not mention it, otherwise it will ruined as other old citys. Atmosfere specicial on the market is like 200years old. Views are amazing, and most important the people.

Mardin is beautiful and ancient and wonderful.
Mardin is beautiful and ancient and wonderful. Everyone was so friendly - I never encountered even one person who wasn't kind and gracious.
I think the only down side to Mardin is all of the litter. Although I saw several workers cleaning, it seems the people of Mardin don't understand the impact of throwing you trash out the window, which I saw a lot of.
Nonetheless, I loved Mardin. The history, the people, the general feel... wonderful! I will return!
I liked the friendly staff who was eager to help. They helped me to build an itinerary (my compliments to Veysi) for the sightseeing of the beautiful city of Mardin ( I stayed 3 nights but I could use more time because there were a lot of things to see). I also liked staying in this historical stone building which was built hundreds of years ago.
The place was centrally located (in the hearth of the old town) and it was quick to reach from the airport. There were plenty of restaurants and shops around the hotel.
Great manager and staff. We were sent a message ahead of time to guide us through the maze of steps and narrow lanes to the hotel. The manager called taxis for us and negotiated the prices; he called the driver of our departing taxis to tell us we’d left a piece of luggage in the room. Breakfast was good. The place has been tastefully renovated without losing its ancient flavour. Since we didn’t have good weather, we weren’t able to take full advantage of the terrace and the view it offers over Mardin.
A wonderful stay where staff go above and beyond with their service and cleanliness. The rooms are spotless, the location is in a great spot, in Old Mardin with touristic spots nearby. The staff will stop at nothing to ensure your stay at Mardin is everything you wanted. The only thing I’d pick on is the amount of stairs taken to get there BUT this is in no way the hotels fault as Mardin has stairs everywhere to get to anywhere! Highly recommend this place, we will definitely be coming back!
We totally enjoyed our stay in this beautiful old konak located in the old city of Mardin. Don't miss out on the breakfasts that can be enjoyed at the rooftop overlooking the Mesopotamian hinterland.
Thank you to the staff (Idris, Emin, Zahit and Ferhat) and to Tahir who picked us up from the airport and accommodated us in so many ways during 2 day trips with him (one to Gobekli Tepe close to Sanliurfa and the other to Midyat and many interesting places around Mardin).
I liked everything about this hotel. Friendly staff who always help with advice. Very attentive hotel owner who really cares about his guests.
The day we checked in it was very cold and they brought us an extra heater. We didn't even ask about it, but we were very impressed with such care for the guests.
The rooms are clean, and cleaning is done every day.
If I come to Mardin again, the question of where to stay will definitely not arise, of course, in Carra Konagi.
Tufan, Islam, Talia, Ceylan, and Hamdin were excellent hosts. They really made us feel at home and the breakfast was fantastic. The stone house is 900+ years old and has been thoughtfully renovated. Interestingly, the water supply is pumped from an old well beneath the property that you can see! The house is conveniently located and an excellent place to explore the rest of Mardin from. We definitely hope to return!
Great location in old town. Lovely restored mansion, beautiful stone carving in our room, nice rooftop terrace, good breakfast. Best part was that staff met us on arrival in the old town to help us park and guide us to hotel, providing help with luggage. Otherwise parking and finding the hotel tucked back in winding alleys would have been an impossible nightmare on our own.
The staff were very friendly and always looking to help. I should note as an American English speaker that most of the hotel staff spoke little or no English. We used Google Translate almost exclusively. This is not a problem for me and I don't consider it a negative in any way but other non-Turkish speakers should be aware of this if you are not comfortable with that.
We loved everything about this place, the rooms the bathrooms, the views, proximity to everything, the breakfast, and the staff are SUPER NICE with great English and gave us a good breakdown of the history of the hotel as well as the surrounding areas.
This hotel is the best experience we've had in Turkey, super memorable.
Breakfast was good. Location of hotel is at the central part of old city. Bed and pillow are comfy. Room and bathroom lighting was too dim.
Extremely difficult to find ways to the hotel using navigation. Since hotel does not have parking space, we had to park at another hotel parking and was charged 150tl per night.
Everything was perfect: we were welcomed with tea and biscuits, we got upgraded in a very beautiful room, the view is amazing, the hotel is very central, the breakfast was phenomenal and the staff really, really kind. Thank you thank you you made our stay in Mardin very enjoyable. We highly recommend it!
Carra Konagi is in middle of the Old Mardin. It’s a genuine, lovely, clean Guesthouse.
Rooms are big and comfortable, staff are very polite and helpful, breakfast is great. Also there is a beautiful Mesopotamia view from the terrace.
We did not even see the property. When we arrived in Mardin we found out the address did not exist. We called them and they said the room was not ready. An hour of waiting IN THE RAIN!! later they told us to go to a different hotel.
What a spectacular hotel! Beautiful beyond words. Also comfortable and a very friendly staff. We meet the owner and he welcomed us with the hospitality common to that beautiful region of Turkey. I definitely plan to go back!
The place is incredible. When staying in Mardin, I really recommend this hotel to everyone, because the position is just perfect and the terrace view is incredible. It's a value added to your journey.
Located in the center of the city in an old building, the hotel has a great view over Mardin. The room was spacious, temperature adequate, bathroom very spacious and overall it was comfortable
Very helpful staff, nice room and hotel interiors exactly matching historical surroundings, good WiFi and very good breakfast. Perfect choice for visitors.
