Great accommodations — fully appointed kitchen with supplies, and heating/shower were perfect for a super cold weekend.
Beautiful small town with everything you need. The Vermont Country Deli is great! So much good food to choose from. The Mac & Cheese is a must buy, best ever! Could do without the roundabout. Missed my turn twice and you have to go 6 miles before you can turn around. Then it's 6 miles back just to go around again. If I was staying longer would have tried to get a map of the town and maybe take a back road. The parks are great for just relaxing a while. We got food at the Vermont Country Deli (several times) and ate picnic style at a park. Definitely want to go back!

Brattleboro is a lovely, quaint town with a long history and a well kept downtown section that has many appealing features, including artist shops that are more like mini art museums, plus an actual art museum adjacent to its Amtrak station, a wide variety of interesting and high quality eateries, as well as large department stores and specialty shops to serve all of one's shopping needs, a modern, well-run and fully staffed hospital near the downtown area, and a lovely historic movie theater (now a multiplex) right in the town center that shows both mainstream and art films and is a short walk from the coolest, largest, most diverse food coop (next to a small waterfall and boardwalk and fully open to the public) that I have ever seen, along with lots of municipal parking areas, but its most beautiful feature is its location right on the Connecticut River (like a short block from Main Street), which is dominated and defined by the steep mass of Mount Wantastiquet (elevation 1351′) to the east, on the opposite (New Hampshire) side of the river. And the whole atmosphere of the town is welcoming, tolerant and progressive. My favorite auto repair shop in town is run by and staffed mostly by women mechanics. There's also lots of live music in the area, from rock to folk, jazz and classical. Not to mention a good AYCE Chinese Buffet on the Putney Road side of town.

We arrived on a Monday & soon realized most stores, restaurants are open Wednesday- Sunday with many varying hours even some signs stating “Sometimes Open!” Which we found hysterical. Several great vegan restaurants which was necessary for us. Worth visiting the Mary ___ Park with dilapidated castle and stairs & beautiful nature. Nice community pool if your hotel doesn’t have one. The SAXTON Distillery was our favorite
Discovery. Must try the Maple Bourbon- and I am not a bourbon drinker. !! Getting g around & parking is easy in this small town. Don’t recommend the Works Cafe for dinner. Dinner & Service exceptional at Tulip restaurant. The Whetstone Station food was good for dinner but pressured to order on your phone which makes it impossible to personalize entrees ( take off/ add)
And with a group of 5 awkward if 1 person wanted to pay for the entire group. This is new since COVID that others in our group who were familiar with restaurant stated. It definitely took away from our dining pleasure & would make us think twice before dining here again. No staff even checked in after our meals arrived to see if everything was ok. Almost seemed like eating cafeteria style but not with cafeteria prices or gratuity. Absolutely loved our sandwiches at YALLA and ambiance of this tiny restaurant but great staff even when busy.

Brattleborro is a cute town with interesting shops and some nice restaurants and breweries. We came for the ski jump festival and it did not disappoint. It would make a lovely destination in the fall summer and fall also.

Smelled of smoke, bleach stains on blankets, when we took them off the white sheets had blood stains. Hole on the wall, our room had a broken window with no blinds on it. The bathroom toilet seat had burnt spoon marks of it and smelled like meth. Until july 1st 2021 they were government assist housing for the homeless, there are still homeless people everywhere, they booked our room for july 2nd
Checking in was easy, with tour and rules explained. The guest rooms were recently updated and were spacious and clean. The bathrooms were a good size and well maintained. AC was running great and beds were super comfortable. The location was a convenient walk to downtown with little traffic on side streets. Staff was friendly and communicated clearly. Breakfast was flexible and accommodating for dietary needs. Pat and Conrad were the best hosts, through the whole stay. The cats were friendly.
The Inn was beautiful and the grounds were beautiful as well. There are multiple serine seating areas in the back yard that leads to a trail you can walk along. The Innkeeper Paul was so nice and he is an amazing chef! The breakfasts were delicious!! The Inn is within walking distance to downtown, which I really liked.
This was our second time at this hotel. We use Brattleboro as a halfway point on our way to Maine. It is a little outside the downtown, but we have found it perfect for us. Rooms are large. Staff is good. We have needed early check-in and that was easy to arrange.
This place is a gem...found it because we quickly had to leave The Travel Lodge in Brattleboro because it was filthy, dangerous + not what was advertised. I wish I had booked The Black Montain Inn first! Amazing owners, location, comfortable rooms + a pool!
Love the lap pools, jacuzzi, sauna & steam room. I wish it was open until 10pm though. My room & bed were very comfortable. Hotel personnel placed me right across from swim-spa area in room 116 which made it very convenient for me.
Very large, well maintained room for the price. The bed was very comfortable. This is one of the few hotels in Vermont with an indoor pool. That the pool is large enough to swim laps is a bonus.
I booked two rooms, showed up twenty minutes later. There were NO ROOMS AVAILABLE. WENT TO ANOTHER HOTEL, BUT FIRST MADE SURE CHARGE WOULD BE CANCELLED. CLERK SAID SHE DID SO. SHE DID NOT.
The hotel staff was super friendly. The room was confortable and quiet and we had a good night of sleep. There is a lot of food options at a walking distance.
