Pontiac is a town on old Route 66.
Pontiac is a town on old Route 66. There is a lot of history here. Abe Lincoln also spent some time in this town. They have a Lincoln trail to explore. Lots to do and see. Almost forgot to mention the bakery /coffee shop.Don't miss the delicious baked goods.

The museums are a big draw.
The museums are a big draw. Many visitors like the Route 66 museum, but I thought it could use more organization. I visited thee Route 66 museum in Kingman, AZ, and it was terrific, with illustrative murals (Pontiac has some murals, but visitors will not learn that much from them about why people became fascinated by Route 66).

Pontiac has something for everyone and allow time for the museums & exhibits in the City Hall annex. Plays at the Eagle Theatre are great - summer plays in the park a wonderful experience! Lincoln, Route 66, the Del Estes War Education Center, the Gilders Museum, Pontiac-Oakland, check out the Pontiac.org city website for upcoming events! Saturdays 10-3 ride the free trolley and see even more - the murals, more history! Good restaurants, great shopping! Park in the downtown square or city hall parking lot for free and everything is just about a walk-to location!CatherineUnited States

Melissa checked us in again and was super accommodating, she kind and her chipper attitude was refreshing after a long drive with kids. The next morning our breakfast was yet again amazing. Becky kept up with all the foods and made sure guests were happy. She even stopped to have a conversation with me while I was waiting on my waffles. We will continue to use this hotel for our future trips north. Thank you for making us feel like family.

I was a little iffy after reading other comments, but found this facility to be GREAT!! I travel with my service animal & they put me in a room near an exit door... which was absolutely perfect for potty time! Beds slept well and certainly had plenty of pillows. My only "issue" (which was not a really big deal at all) was the bathroom was COLD and it took forever for the water to get warm. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit in Illinois.

Breakfast was excellent and surprisingly varied for a small hotel. The room felt very clean, and the fridge was large....very helpful!
