Great location to parks and nearby attractions. The shuttle to Universal and city walk was convenient. The staff were courteous.
The hotel had an old Hollywood vibe.
Located in North Hollywood, Lexen Hotel - North Hollywood Near Universal Studios features a fitness center and a shared lounge. Every room has a flat-screen TV with with cable channels.
Newly refurbished motel. Room was clean and had good linens. The decor was 60s inspired which complimented the era of the drive motel era which it is. I liked the different colored room entry doors because it made it easier to find room and was cheerful look. The location was good access to freeway. The breakfast room had a nice atmosphere, clean and offered options such as coffee, tea, pastries.

Sherman Oaks is in the San Fernando Valley, where I grew up & we were there visiting family. The Courtyard Marriott is located on the "main drag", Ventura Blvd & close to the 101 & 405 freeways for easy access.

I’ve always loved Sherman Oaks.
I’ve always loved Sherman Oaks. It has everything and everything Los Angeles has to offer at a good distance. The Hills are close by, all the freeways and lots of shopping and good eatery. Getting around Sherman Oaks is very easy. Either by foot or car, Ventura Blvd has a lot to offer.

We really were not in area for Sherman Oaks experience. We know that the area and would recommend staying at the Courtyard as it is within driving distance of the beautiful mall. It is also within walking distance of some good restaurants.

It's a quiet suburb of LA.
It's a quiet suburb of LA. The Getty Center is nearby and it's positioned well for driving to Malibu, Santa Monica, or Universal Studios. There are plenty of good places to eat - Blu Jam is a favorite for brunch.

This place dont have the room service in the night time so if you came from outside or from pool and if you need any extra bath towels or any other thing you have walk all the way to the front lobby to get your stuff. this is ridiculous. Also the rooms are trash. Very old and dirty rooms and washrooms. We booked this place for 3 nights and during our stay we had to change our room next day as the first one had sink which was constantly leaking the one of the lights were not working. And on top they dont have anyone in the late evening to fix any stuff. The second room we got had no phone and the AC was not functioning well. Who puts the AC inside the closet area in the corner. The bed skirts were also dirty. I would not recommend anyone to choose this place.
Their breakfast is also not good at all.
We liked this hotel very much. The complimentary parking included was great and looked safe. The front desk has good amenities, coffee brewer, water filter (!), cups and napkins.
The business center room was great, I was able to connect for my online work meeting seamlessly.
The breakfast is not included, but there's a great Denny's location right next door, where you can have breakfast, lunch or dinner. It's open 24/7 I think.
While many hotel chains have gone to cold grey decor, this Hampton had an old Hollywood theme and warm, inviting colors and textures. Plus the staff went above and beyond to be helpful, particularly Sam at the front desk. My husband was recovering from back surgery and Sam insisted on helping him get into the car and loaded our luggage into the back.
Everything was perfect, the room was cosy and clean with a nice swimming pool area just in front of it. The staff was very helpful, I especially appreciate how Jasmine and Maribel took care of all of my needs. I highly recommend this hotel also because it is very well connected by bus, if you don’t have any car.
The look and feel of the hotel with light colors are nice, however the pictures on booking.com are a little bit misleading. There are several restaurants and services around, I just needed to go to a CVS because my kid broke his toothbrush and the hotel did not offer amenities like a disposable toothbrush.
Hotel is super clean. Only place in a two weeks trip where they cleaned the rooms all days we were in (and without asking). Hotel is well located right next to highway 405 so it gives easy acces to Universal Studios and Gety museum. Not too far from Hollywood or the beach in Santa Monica or Malibu either.
I liked most of it. The food was good. The owners were super accommodating and nice. The room was beautiful and comfortable. They place had a good and cozy atmosphere. The pool and jacuzzi was great. Had a wonderful time and wish I could’ve stayed longer. Much better than a hotel in my opinion.
This courtyard was a comfortable stay. It followed all of the regular standards of Courtyards/Marriotts. Standard fare for business/conference hotel. Clean, spacious and nice rooms. Right next to a few freeway on/off-ramps for accessible driving.
Location was walking distance to where I had an event. Right next to Sherman Oaks Galleria (but half the shops are empty these days). Third or fourth time staying here, as it's the cheapest place around, but still too expensive for what you get.
Our host Michael was amazing! The house was super clean and welcoming. Living room was set up perfect for relaxing with friends and family. The patio area and front yard was great for meals and cooking conversation.
