Rhonda is probably the warmest and kindest host we could have ever met. The house is happily situated at the top of a hill. The room is super comfortable and the house is with details of early 20s. We've encountered 3 cats, all curious or tolerating (with our kid around and poking). The breakfast is superb, and Rhonda's coffee is perfect for the morning. We enjoyed our stay very much. We certainly hope we'd come to Sonora and visit Knowles Inn again soon.

Excellent breakfast, very friendly proprietor. Loved that we could have our own outdoor space for breakfast since we were traveling with our dog.

Mercer Caverns was fabulous for our whole family, including our 9 and 2 year olds. It was our older daughter’s favorite part of the trip. After the caverns, we had tasty sandwiches for lunch at picnic tables under the canopy of shade trees at Murpheys Pourhouse. The beer was great, and they had good sandwich options for kids and adults. Indigeny Reserve, nestled in the hills, was a beautiful outdoor spot for a picnic, giant Jenga, and the ciders were the best I’ve ever had, good gift shop, too. We enjoyed a casual, delicious dinner at The Armory; our toddler loved climbing the stairs and watching the fountain while we waited on our meal. Columbia State Park was great and a delight, especially for our nine year old.

Great place for the entire family.
Great place for the entire family. Location is right on the heart of Tuolumne County. Rivers, lakes, hiking, off roading, antiques, etc. Whatever you are into it's probably here.
Coffee at Alicia's and lunch at Andy's.

Sonora is an interesting Gold Rush town.
Sonora is an interesting Gold Rush town. Several interesting historical locations. Easy access to Yosemite, Angels Camp. Several excellent dining establishments. We arrived at the beginning of the off-season so a number of museums were closed. The Fire Department Museum was very interesting and the docents were a wealth of information!

The town was not the issue--we could not get a different room because motel was booked and it was too late to try and find another. The room was too small for the amount of furniture--dresser drawers did not pull out easily. I don't believe your agency represented this site well. Back to the town, I wish I had had the time to explore it more.
Location to downtown Sonora and farmers market on Saturdays. A driveway to a funeral home runs along the unit. Also, driveway to the unit is very steep, narrow and difficult to use. Can park on the street but cars fly along this road which is busy and I'm not sure where you'd park on the street. Very nice unit and roamy. Kitchen has a nice dual hot plate for cooking but no oven or stove top. Lots of kitchen counter space to work on.
Everyone was very friendly and helpful. I had my grandsons wedding to go to at Mount Brow Vineyards. This hotel was convenient, and very clean. The person that went was the me, was disabled and they arranged for a ground floor for us. The whole staff was just amazing!!! I will definitely stay there again and I hope that if u need a place to stay in Sonora, this is where to be. Nicholas was super nice. And the girls..thank u
Recently updated inside. New paint, etc. An older historic hotel. Clean and met our three day stay needs well. The desk staff were all nice and helpful. The helped us out on several occasions. The downtown area is there for strolling , shopping, eating and bar hopping. Breakfast was nice, coffee was hot, food acceptable for a classic hotel self serve offering.
The hotel has spacious convinient room, the location of the hotel is easily accessible from the main road although quite far from the downtown Sonora, but ideal for those who plans to go to Yosemite National Park in the morning, the dining room is spacious with delicious and various breakfast menu.
We arrived in San Francisco before our cruise. When the cruise ended we are now touring California and then doing Route 66. I’ve finished with independent hotels. All 3 we have stayed in including this one were very disappointing. If we had seen the rooms before booking we would never have stayed.
The apartment was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. It was very clean and we felt at home during out stay. We loved the location as we really wanted to walk the Sonora downtown area. We used the balcony to enjoy a glass of wine and soak up some of the late March afternoon sun.
Very comfortable bed, decent couch and table, plenty of counter space. The fridge fit all our needs. Surprisingly quiet. Loved that it was between Jamestown and Sonora, giving us plenty of dining and shopping options. Our cat was also very comfortable.
Recent improvements were great and needed. The water is now drinkable, not city water. The grounds have been cleaned up, and a pet station added. There is coffee in the lobby. It is very pet friendly! The beds and pillows are comfortable.
I was pleasantly surprised at how clean everything smelled and looked. The rooms are simple but everything was cozy and comfortable. The pool and hot tub were clean and nice. Hands down best breakfast at a hotel ever.
very clean room very modern and up to date. comfortable and stylish. pool was busy and in the main part of the hotel. lobby was nice location was good high street shops were great!
Very nice hotel. The rooms were very clean and the beds and pillows a dream. Breakfast was terrific too. The boys enjoyed the pool after a long day exploring Pinecrest lake.
The hotel staff made this an enjoyable stay. They were very courteous, kind and helpful! The rooms are large and well equipped. We got a 5 star breakfast in the morning!
