It is just a short drive to the base of Cotapaxi so if you want to stay somewhere outside the national park it’s a great choice. Super value for money, excellent hot shower, nice rooms and a very pleasant feel about the place. If I was to attempt to get a clear day for Cotopaxi again, I would certainly stay there.

Hacienda El Porvenir by Tierra del Volcan is set in a traditional Andean house with adobe walls and thatched roofs. There is a restaurant, and breakfast is included. Food at the restaurant was stellar, great selection of typical Andean dishes to try at reasonable prices. Location was scenic and beautiful, lots of hikes to try and loved spending time with the llamas. Great place to relax, sit by the wood fire and reconnect with nature or loved ones. The spa was just what I needed to relax, worth it.

The owner and staff have done a magnificent job of restoring this 100 year old building to a wonderful condition. Much of the restoration has been completed, and I was impressed by how he/they continue improving even the smaller details. The service was excellent, the building, immaculate, and I especially enjoyed watching the clouds drift up among the surrounding hills in the early mornings.

They have a museum which is well worth it. Also sell some homemade indigenous products made the the townspeople.

Lovely place that the pictures of the dwelling do not do suffucicent justice. Plenty of space and washrooms. Even secure outdoor location for entertainment. Blankets are nice and warm. Really, book this place for a longer stay then we did.

Turismo Comunitario La Esperanza is a farm stay offering accommodation in Cantón Colta. This farm stay features free WiFi and a garden. The restaurant serves local cuisine. Everything was intentional and well laid out. Very comfortable and lots to offer at affordable prices prives for families. Great hospitality.
