Located in Kyoto, 1.1 km from Nijo Castle and 1.7 km from the centre, Rinn Shiki Juraku provides air-conditioned accommodation with free WiFi, and a garden. This is a great place to stay for when you want to have your own private quiet space (and a bit more space than a typical hotel room), but still want to be cared for by hotel-like staff. We landed on this place because I wanted to stay in a typical Ryokan, but my husband wanted his own bathroom. It was the best stay of our Japan trip out of 3 hotels that were all far above average. It feels very secluded and private, there are around 10 apartments in total and everyone has their own entrance. There's a coin washing machine as well. There is a small breakfast buffet with really great coffee and they provide some free snacks during the day as well I believe. All in all it feels really kind and caring.

In the Nakagyo Ward district of Kyoto, close to Kyoto International Manga Museum, 谷町君・星屋旅館・神泉ノ宿 二条城 has a garden, free WiFi and a washing machine. Everything was new and clean. Location is also good, close to Nijo castle and with good connection to other areas.

In the Ukyo Ward district of Shimo saga, close to Arashiama Bamboo Grove, 谷町君・星屋・談山旅館 京都嵐山 has a garden, free WiFi and a washing machine. The entire place was very nice, loved the interior Japanese-style design. The bath was also amazing. Overall, it felt very luxurious and totally worth the price we paid.

In the Minami Ward district of Kyoto, close to Kyoto Station, Kyoto Villa Kotone has a garden, free WiFi and a washing machine. Guests staying at this holiday home have access to a balcony. Excellent location, fantastic house. Convenient to everything you want or could need. James, the owner, goes above and beyond to help you enjoy your stay at the house and time in kyoto. His guidebook on what buses to take to attractions was incredibly helpful, and the wall map to show what attraction is in which direction. The 3 bedrooms upstairs allowed our family of 5 to have space, and the upstairs and downstairs toilet was very helpful. The house is located from the west exit at kyoto station, near JR office and trains.

The apartment is traditional, with a lot of space and hidden corners inside which our kids enjoyed very much to explore

In the Higashiyama Ward district of Kyoto, close to Kiyomizu-dera Temple, Campton Kiyomizu Vacation Rental has a garden, free WiFi and a washing machine. We had the traditional Japanese breakfast on both mornings and they were absolutely divine. The care and effort put into them was amazing. The beautiful staff who brought them and set everything up were incredible. We would highly recommend this experience. Delicious.

Kyoisuke offers accommodation within 700 metres of the centre of Kyoto, with free WiFi, and a kitchenette with a dishwasher, an oven and a microwave. The hospitaly. The house. The bathroom was so nice ! The private garden. Everything!

BenTen Residences offer a Japanese machiya accommodation in the heart of Higashiyama, Kyoto. Yasaka Shrine is 7 minutes on foot, while Kiyomizu Temple is a 14-minute stroll. Takase San bring all the goodness and hospitality were very good we all enjoy stay at shimaya definitely stay again

Very friendly and hospitable stuff. There were two beds on the second floor and two futons on the first. Enough space for family of 4. Spacious bathroom and open air hot bath. There are washing machines and small kitchen on hotel territory
