As a Uruguayan living in Sweden, I always take my vacations in Uruguay. Due to the pandemic that has become impossible, so I wanted to pick a country with a coastline towards the Atlantic and Portugal was the perfect match. I had already visited the Algarve last year and knew I wanted to live in a rural location between Aljezur and Odeceixe, so Rogil was what I was looking for. If you really, really want tranquility and peace of mind Herdade de Vagem is truly the place for you. The silence, the closeness to amazing nature like the beach of Praia do Vale dos Homes, the small country roads and friendly people. You have it all here. The host was very attentive and responsive to messages during my stay. As I was coming with food that would have otherwise been spoiled, I was allowed to check in earlier as there were no previous guests. The apartment was simply perfect for me in size. The bed was very comfortable. The kitchen perfect in size. The week I stayed simply flew away. In one way or another I will come back, that is for sure.

Huoneet olivat todella mukavat, kauniit ja siistit. Oma terassi kruunasi sen. Aamiainen oli yksi parhaista syömistäni - ei kikkailuja, vaan laadukkaita raaka-aineita ja pöytiintarjoiltuna. Illalla ulkona oli pieni tuli, jonka ääressä oli ihana juoda iltatee. Lainasimme pyöriä ja kiersimme lähialuetta pyörällä. Henkilökunta oli todella avuliasta ja jopa soittivat peräämme uloskirjautumisen jälkeen, kun eivät olleet toivottamassa meille hyvää matkaa. Suosittelen lämpimästi ja palaan varmasti!

Quinta das Alfambras is set in Aljezur, 15 km from Aljezur Castle, 15 km from Southwest Alentejo and Vicentine Coast Natural Park, and 26 km from Santo António Golf Course. Vera and her mother couldn’t be better hosts, they were extremely nice and very welcoming!! The house was very cozy and beautiful. Breakfast was absolutely amazing! delivered to our porch in the morning. An amazing place to stay, we’ll be coming back for sure!

Home Village, a property with barbecue facilities, is situated in Vila do Bispo, 35 km from Aljezur Castle, 45 km from Algarve International Circuit, as well as 10 km from Fortress of Sagres. Perfect little retro house with very sunny balcony. Very comfy beds. Plenty of everything needed to self cater. Perfect retreat for tired hikers . In old town near all the restaurants and hiking trails. Beautiful view of surrounding countryside from balcony. Easiest one of the nicest places we stayed on our 9 stays for the hike. Easy self check in . Sofa bed downstairs is more private than other sofa bed options are the main house is upstairs so feels like a separate bedroom . Owners also made up a single bedroom upstairs which was a bonus . Photos don’t do it justice . It’s a great house at a good price . Thanks for having us

Offering a garden and quiet street view, Casa do Lado is situated in Vila Nova de Milfontes, 1.2 km from Lighthouse Beach and 700 metres from Sao Clemente Fort. Excellent B&B ! Everything you could wish for in a B&B experience : fine room (ours was on the ground floor) with a spacious bed and ample storage room. Perfect bathroom with a great shower and an impeccable host (or his sister) serving a great breakfast. Definitely a lodging to return to.

Abrigo das Nortadas, a property with a shared lounge, is set in Vila do Bispo, 11 km from Santo António Golf Course, 14 km from Southwest Alentejo and Vicentine Coast Natural Park, as well as 33 km... The owner was lovely and very helpful. He even drove us into town to get groceries, which was above and beyond any expectations!!

Offering barbecue facilities and quiet street view, Biscuttela Vicentina is situated in Praia da Arrifana, 500 metres from Arrifana Beach and 7.5 km from Aljezur Castle. The hosts brought clean towels in the middle of the week and we also got treated with pastel de natal
