Downtown Reykjavik is full of life, joy and culture, so it can be noisy at night. We recommend enjoying the live music at the bar downstairs, which will stop at 11 in the night.

When we arrived at 8 AM, we could have left our luggage until check-in time, but 2 rooms were ready and we took an offer of early check-in for a reasonable fee. It was a great relief to unpack our bags and rest and freshen up before exploring Reykjavik.
I liked the location, which was away from the Center and therefore quiet. The Food Hall with several good choices was a short walk away.

I do not recommend Reykjavik to visit at all. I visited at the beginning of June. It was extremely cold and windy, which made walking very difficult. I almost lost my scarf due to heavy winds. It even hailed!
There is not much to see or do unless you like snow or snowmobiling. Then you should come in the winter and also go on a monster truck trip on ice.
Hiking may be a good activity. Everything else is very overrated.
The nature does not look real; there is no normal looking soil, mostly rocky terrains or volcanic turf Very limited kind of short trees.
Very very expensive, especially restaurants! No meal is less than 40$.
Overall, it's depressing. People are nice but cold, just like the weather.
The only nice activity is hot springs. I really liked the Sky Lagoon, and I would definitely recommend going there to relax your nerves!

First tip for travelers, check the weather forecast and prepare for all options. Weather is changeable, but other than that, Reykjavik is a wonderful city for travelers, The hotel options are amazing and there are so many wonderful things to see and do. The museums, shopping, and restaurants are varied and so much fun. The Whale, Perlan and Phallic museums are must sees.
If you stay downtown, almost everything is within walking distance. Taxis are plentiful and prices are reasonable. If you rent a car, be prepared to spend an inordinate amount of time searching for parking in the city. Free parking is extremely hard to find and you must have the Parka app to pay for parking,
The scenery outside the city is amazing. The roads are well maintained and well marked, Speed limits are strictly enforced via cameras. We found that out the hard way as speed limits drop quickly when approaching a city/town. We rented a car and spent 10 days touring the country. We had to quit stopping every couple of miles to take pictures of all the marvelous waterfalls and scenery or we would have never made our itinerary. It was breathtaking,,,
Most interesting - Golden Mile, , Glacier Tours, and the buffet at The Tomato Greenhouse restaurant.
We have visited Iceland twice and looking forward to a third.

My second time...great food, great sight-seeing especially areas with natural beauty. Easy to get around if you rent a car; most businesses do not have free parking, you must utilize street parking. That being said, there are some designated pay parking areas near/adjacent to most locations. Nearly everyone speaks English.

A beautiful small city but has everything you need even a Hard Rock Cafe! It has interesting modern buildings, interesting museums to visit. The Opera house has a remarkable architecture. The Perlan Museum was also great to see, especially, the ice-cave experience be ready to take with you warm clothes if you are going there. There were hot water beaches and it was interesting to see people going into these hot tubs in regular swimming suits rather than diving suits!. Coming from a hot country where we go swimming in the sea/ocean in the summer only, it was interesting to see people swimming in the ocean! In addition, the drinking, cafes and dining were also great. I highly recommend a stroll around the city and the small lake in the middle of the city. And go to the rainbow street where you can find loads of nice cafes and authentic restaurants and visit cafes like "Mokka Kaffi" which is one of the oldest ones in the city and has great staff and photos around showing the old times mixed with modern ones. I am sure there were other such nice cafes around as we did not have much time these are the one we know. Have a good time and let us know what else you explore in Reykjavik in the future!

Its a very quirky Capital and very clean and well worth a visit. Fairly expensive but as its the 6th most expensive Country in the World so you would expect this. The Town Centre is so compact and easy to navigate and there are many trips to areas outside the capital. The Bus Service in my opinion was hard to access and navigate and I didnt think the bus drivers were too bothered about helping foreign people who dont speak Icelandic which was a little off putting but generally most people who were Icelandic were very polite and helpful and eager to point you in the right direction - definitely a nice place to visit and I would recommend highly. The trips out are expensive but worth a shot. On reflection I should have hired a car but I more than likely would have got completely lost as the roads were confusing but its not like the UK with Cars everywhere its got very few cars so not as much pressure ! Its a great place and very unlike the UK in lots of ways. Plenty of outdoor pools in Rejkavic too so if you like a swim its all good fun !
The accomodation was clean and the location is really perfect, the BSÍ bus terminal was close by, it's a walking distance to the city centre, plus there are a bunch of day trips where a bus will pick you up directly from the hostel. The rooms, beds and bedding were simple but quite comfortable and clean. There are a lot of bathrooms on every floor so even with the hostel almost full, I never waited too long for one. The kitchenette has everything you need to make a quick. For such a cheap price, this is really an amazing place to stay.
Apart from the fact that we were rushed at breakfast, it was one of the best we've had in Iceland. But I did not expect anything less from a Hilton Hotel. The staff was also very friendly and helpful, the room very spacious and quiet. Big parking lot. We wanted to explore Reykjavik and go to the Sky Lagoon, the city center was only 5 minutes and the Sky Lagoon around 10 minutes away by car, which was very convenient. Also it was a good starting point for the Golden circle. Overall a very nice stay.
A nicely located hotel just a few minutes walk from downtown Reykjavik. The rooms are clean and reasonably spacious and have all of the necessary facilities. The beds are very comfortable and the shower very efficient. The staff are very friendly and helpful - a problem that I had with my billing was sorted out very quickly with the reception staff. Given the location and quality of this hotel, the pricing was more than reasonable. The included buffet breakfast was very good with a lot of choice.
This accommodation is a really good choice to travel and explore Iceland. A bit far from Reykjavik center, but with good parking places and completely next to the cheapest shopping place, Bonus.
So you can buy some foods directly next to your apartment, cook something and start your whole day trips all around the island.
The property was completely clean, comfortable, with super easy access with door codes.
The kitchen is full equipped.
Just recommended!
the receptionist was so helpful with our early-checking. Also, the early checking gave us access to the breakfast that I must say it was one of the best breakfasts in hotels I had. The breakfast doesn't have too much variety but the quality of the food it's unmatched (the pastries were delicious) . The room was ok. the location is unbeatable. Right at the center of Reykjavik, just 2 minutes walking to rainbow street.
I recommend this hotel in the center of reykjavik. There is a bus stop 3 in front and the city hall bus stop 1 is 5 minutes walking distance it was perfect for the pick up for my excursions. What i appreciate, when i did my booking, i wrote a resquest they replied me we did our best if it is possible and they did it. It was very nice to be consider not as a simple tourist, they take care.
Convenient place to stay for a night before or after a flight. Still 40 minutes from the airport but cheaper than most airport hotels. Superior room was a decent size and a little worn in places but it suited us for a 1 night stopover. Room and bathroom was clean. Breakfast was okay. Pretty basic but that is common in most places in Iceland.
Perfect location in downtown Reykjavik close to everything. The owner, Garoar was super friendly and helpful and available to answer any questions we had. I cannot recommend a better place to stay here. Added bonus, it is located next door to the most famous bakery in town!! The cinnamon rolls are a must!
I used the Electric scooters to go to and from the hotel and downtown Reykjavik. They always had a few charged around the corner. The hotel was clean and towels were brought every day. They also let us check in a few hours early. so we could get some much needed rest after our flight into Iceland.
A cute little hotel, in the center, of Reykjavík city. With good beds, nice showers, and a kitchenette. About 2 minutes away, there’s a cheap supermarket. Just a 1 minute walk, to “Hlemmur” bus stop. And “Laugavegur” Main Street, is right next to it, leading to the oldest part of town.
Fosshotel Lind was a great place to stay in Reykjavik. Its location was convenient enough to walk downtown, without being too close to the nightlife. The staff were polite and friendly, and happy to answer any questions we had. The breakfast was one of the best we have had in years!
Great location only a few minutes walk from the hustle and bustle of downtown Reykjavik. Room was large with plenty of space with a small sink and table for two. Community kitchen and bathrooms were clean and neat. Had my best sleep of the trip at this location!
The breakfast room was light and cheery, the food was plentiful and presented well.
The location was great, walking distance to the harbor, city center and best of all, the bus stop from the airport was right out in front of the hotel!
this place was great and the breakfast and dining was good. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking to stay close to downtown Reykjavík. The staff helped us with all our questions. we had a very pleasant stay.
Good quality for hostel. Cheap for Iceland/Reykjavik with very convenient (central) location. Finally decided to stay twice - the first and the last day of our stay in Iceland.
This is our go-to hotel in 101 Reykjavik. Never disappoints. Parking was available. Convenient to downtown Reykjavik and its sights. Breakfast is typical.
