We stayed for a week. The room we got was very spacious and very clean. The bed was very comfortable. This is a family run hotel with a very good restaurant providing local cuisine. The continental breakfast is very good, we especially enjoyed bread and Broetchen as well croissants.

This 5-star Superior hotel is a 17th century castle offering luxury accommodation, award-winning cuisine, and free parking. It is located in Essen's south western district of Kettwig. We really had a great weekend at the castle! Having read reviews, we were expecting some noise from planes - but there was absolutely no noise heard in our room👍🏻 Room was beautiful, we had tasty dinner at restaurant 1831. Breakfast was amazing, one of the best we had in hotels. Definitely want to come back!
