The location was a bit far from the attractions. However, we walked and used the city bus travelling around. Hotel is nice, clean, quiet, and provide lot amenities as you need. No daily room clean though, need to request, but we never seen staff during our stay (expect when we checked in). There is common area with microwave and toaster.

Set in Nishijin, Villa Front Kyoto Seimei ヴィラフロント京都晴明 offers accommodation with a flat-screen TV and a kitchen. A microwave and kettle are also featured. The room was amazing. Very close with the bus stop and Family Mart. The electric was completely. I recommend this place for everyone visiting.

Nestled in a quiet residential area, Kyoto Brighton Hotel is located in the heart of Kyoto, a 5-minute walk from Kyoto Imperial Palace. All guest rooms are non-smoking and soundproofed. My room was large with a very big shower and tub area and full size soaking tub. Everything was updated and the mattress was very comfortable. The room had everything I needed, including a small fridge and a handy in-room safety box. Breakfast was included with my room and I could choose between the excellent Japanese breakfast in the Japanese restaurant overlooking a garden, or opt for the Western-style buffet which featured made to order eggs and omelets and a wide array of delicious options. I liked the location near the Gosho Imperial Palace and the Marutamachi subway station. When I was feeling lazy I took the free shuttle to Oike/Karasuma, where I could catch two different subways (east-west and north-south). The open atrium in the center featured a coffee shop/bar and was a pleasant place to chat with friends. I used to live in Kyoto and this is one of my favorite parts of town, very convenient yet quiet. I can speak Japanese, but was glad that the front desk staff included some very good English speakers. I found the staff at this hotel very friendly and professional throughout the property. After staying for one week, I found it very hard to leave. I will definitely be back.

This small boutique hotel is located in quite area of Kyoto, close to the imperial palace. The staff made our stay very pleasant and were always ready to accommodate any request or questions we had. The rooms where large even by western standards, more than 40 m2 and the bathroom with the tub was wonderful. Also it in a very quiet location so there is no noise of any kind.

Right in front of Kyoto Imperial Palace, Kyoto Garden Palace offers free WiFi in all areas of the hotel. The hotel features a restaurant, and it provides bicycle rentals and massage services. People were always ready to help, front desk was open 24 hours a day.

Sometimes it takes ages for warm water to come out but here it was almost instantaneous which was awesome. The staff was incredibly helpful and nice :)

Regarding the price levels in Kyoto during peak season, this is a good deal. Modern hotel at an international standard. The hotel is close to one of the tourist bus lines that takes you to all the sights, the imperial palace and the castle are in walking distance. Just note that there are two Livemax hotels in this area, I went to the wrong one initially. Just stick to the address in the description and don't just search the name on Google maps like I did.

Absolutely loved the character and charm of the hotel, the facilities, the lounge area for breakfast/evening drinks, ease of use of the washer/dryer that was there. The hotel was in a quiet residential section of Kyoto, yet access to Nijo Castle, the Imperial Palace and downtown Kyoto was very easy and within a 15 minute walk. Access to the train stations and Uber/Taxi's were equally easy. Amazing local restaurants within walking distance of the Hotel - highly recommend Daigan around the corner for an amazing sushi with an engaging/entertaining/welcoming chef.

Kokonoe Machiya er frábærlega staðsett í miðbæ Kyoto og býður upp á loftkæld herbergi, garð, ókeypis WiFi og sameiginlega setustofu. A perfect place for a Kyoto visit if you don't want to be around the tourist masses. The place is newly renovated and just thought out well, longest sleeps I had in Amy of my accommodations so far. The host (Tony) is a really nice guy with a lot of knowledge about the area and loves to talk and give recommendations.
