Situated in Takayama and only 35 km from Takayama Station, Hirayukan features accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. Lovely Ryokan in the heart of Hirayu, very close to the bus stop. The Japanese style room was beautiful and large with a serene view overlooking a pond. Everything was comfortable and clean. The onsen had stunning mountain views and the male/female areas swap each day so you can experience different views of the mountains. The buffet breakfast had a huge range of both Western and Japanese food. It was a relaxing and special stay for us.

This place is beyond incredible. Located a few minutes walk from the bus station, the house is traditional and lovely. theres an outdoor bath made of wood in the top floor, which you can lock after you and have full privacy. there's also another 2 lovely indoor baths at the entrance floor, where you can also be alone. shared kitchen with free coffee and tea, the rooms are super cozy and the views are breathtaking. they even give you wooden blocks you can write wishes and leave at the shrine not too far from there, for free. Would definitely come back!

A 3-minute walk from Hirayu Onsen Bus Terminal, Okada Ryokan Warakutei features Japanese-style accommodations with mountain views. This ryokan has immense charm and felt like an incredible bargain for the price. The staff went above and beyond to be hospitable, were always welcoming, patient and truly sought to understand and address whatever my needs were. The room felt large and had everything needed for a stay where you can relax and unwind from the intensity of everyday life. If it's available, going for the included breakfast and dinner option is a must. The food was high quality, diverse and always changing. This place has it's own onsen, which was freely available to guests throughout the night and early hours of the morning. There were multiple times where I soaked under the stars and had the place all to myself (if you are new to onsen culture, this can be a nice way to ease yourself into it). This place is special and worth revisiting.

At Nakamurakan, guests can relax in the indoor/outdoor hot-spring baths and enjoy traditional multi-course meals with a Nakai-san personal attendant service. This hotel is like from another space!! Very beautifully conceived and all hallways decorated with large vitrines with the most extravagant and beautiful pieces of antiques!! From beautiful sculptures and vases to exquisite carvings and other large and small objects!! Room very large (VERY large for Japanese conditions!!) very nicely decorated and comfortable!! Private Onsen bath on open air !!! What a pleasure!! Dinner and breakfast were SUPER!!! Absolute must to take dinner!!! Absolutely delicious for taste and eyes!!!
