Guesthouse Iwase terletak di Toyama, 2,2 km dari Toyama-kō dan 14 km dari Toyama Family Park. The host was really kind, he made conversation with me even though I speak little japanese and recommended a few spots around the area to visit. Both the house and the share rooms were more spacious than I expected, and I also got a couple of free tram tickets with my stay. Great experience.

It was amazing to stay in a traditional Japanese thatched house (over 300 years old). The accommodation was warm and had a very cosy lounge area (with guitars and other instruments to play) and lots of cooking space. The location was also quite spectacular with views of the city at night and located next to a lake, park, and sports facilities. There is also a bus stop directly outside of the property. Definitely a must if you're planning to stay in Nanto.

Great base for exploring the Tateyama Gorge, across the street from Tateyama station. The hotel and rooms are modern and updated. Bath was nice also. The staff were wonderful and kind. They had a private room with futon mattresses that were very comfortable. It's also a great cafe during the day, with tasty drinks and ice cream.
