Berggasthaus Eggberge can only be reached by cable car. exceptional location (although likely not for everyone) above the valley near Lake Lucerne. The views are amazing. The breakfast is really good, the staff was kind enough to accommodate our diet requests. Easy parking, easy to find. Easy access from car to elevator and to the room.

Dating from the 18th century, Hotel Restaurant Goldener Schlüssel is located in the Old Town of Altdorf in the Canton of Uri. Lake Lucerne is a 10-minute drive away. Driving from UK to central Italy is tiring and unpredictable and the welcome was warm and even left a bed for the dog and a bowl, which saved me carrying up the one I travel with. I will certainly be back.

Guests can find Hotel Krone in a quiet location, just a 5-minute drive from Altdorf’s centre. It features a sauna and an outdoor swimming pool. The hotel was excellent for our stay and the owners were exceptional to our needs.

Positioned in the Schächental Valley at the Klausen Pass, the Ferienstudio in Unterschächen offers views of the unspoilt nature and nearby mountains. Free WiFi is available. I was extremely surprised by the stay at Farienstudio. I guess I didn't read the information on Booking.com as well as I should have. It is really a one bedroom apartment, with full kitchen, living room, and bath. The 'free breakfast' means that the owner has filled the refrigerator with items, and then brought me fresh baked bread, cheeses and fresh eggs. The view outside the window is simply spectacular.
