If you could choose, try going when snow has appeared. Looks like winter wonderland. Reaching the hotel is advisable via your own car. Public transport is available but may take a while to reach. Tip: Carry water/snacks from Coop at Meriengen (short stop before going forward to Gadmen). The lodge experience is truly calming. Anna at the reception and the rest of the staff are a delight. They would go lengths to make your stay comfortable. We had booked for 8 people but the other family became sick hence only our familiy of 4 reached the lodge. Anna updgraed us to a large room for 4. Room was quite spacious with a splending mountain view. The whole village was covered under snow and the peace of the Alps was all encompassing. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves in the snow. The dinner at the restaurant was quite good. We had Rosti, Alpiner pasta and chicken wings with fries (finger licking fries). It is recommended that you do have the dinner at the lodge. We would surely want to come back. Thanks Anna for making our stay a delight.

Hotel Restaurant Urweide can be found in the village of Innertkirchen in the Bernese Oberland region in the heart of Switzerland. Good breakfast, large and quiet clean room, I had dinner at the restaurant, chicken breast with pasta was very tasty , In front of the hotel there is a small bar where you can drink beer and listen to music you like

Built in 1633, Landgasthof Tännler is a country-style hotel situated in the quiet village of Wyler, at the foot of Sustenpass. The property offers great views of surrounding Alpine landscape. It was perfect holiday with amazing views and service. Everyday cleaning, delicious breakfast and very friendly hostess and stuff.

Located in the centre of Wassen in the Canton of Uri, the family-run Hotel Gerig has a restaurant with a garden terrace serving traditional Swiss cuisine. Breakfast was amazing!! The Chef makes her own yogurt and jellies/jams, applesauce- all delicious!! The staff were all super friendly. The owner stopped by our table every morning at breakfast to ask how we are doing. He is very gregarious and kind!

The property is superb! super clean, it has everything you need and even don't need! Location is also amazing since the property is facing the mountains and the property itself is in the middle of nowhere (for good reason) that gives you time to relax. Super kind host.

Ferienwohnung Gästehaus Fürlauwi enjoys a quiet location 1350 metres above sea level in the tranquil Meien Valley. The location was amazing! Right in the middle of the Alps. Only a couple of hours from Italy and just over an hour to Luzern or Zurich. The house was lovely, clean and very friendly hosts. It was warm enough for us. The apartment looks like new and plenty of room for the 5 of us. Theres a little football pitch and park near the place too. The property has a garden we were allowed to use which had swings, slide etc, our 8 year old loved being able to just go off an play in the garden. Also theres a lovely walk right out of the property along the river with waterfalls coming out of the mountains. It makes the Lake District (where we live) look like molehills!
