Clean, spacious, modern and right in the vineyard. Staff were v helpful in getting our cases to the second floor and down again. Wine available via honesty bar at v reasonable prices. Boasting a fitness centre, shared lounge, terrace and free WiFi, Strandhaus an der Mosel is set in Valwig, 4.8 km from Cochem Castle and 33 km from Castle Eltz. This hotel is extremely clean and well maintained. Everywhere smells really nice. The hosts are the most lovely and helpful people. They were always thoughtful about our needs but never invasive. It's suprisingly big since It's a redone house. You get your own key and can come and go as you like. There are about 25 rooms with a shared lounge where you can grab snacks and drinks and just write what you took on a bit of paper. There is no fridge or coffeemaker in the room itself, but we didn't miss it. The shared coffee maker is excellent and prices are cheap. Nearby are at least two good restaurants (next door and Frisch Fritz) at walking distance. Plenty of free parking around. It's the perfect location to visit everything in the area. Breakfast is fabulous and from 8.30 till 10. I cannot recommend this hotel enough!

Hotellet ligger i en del av Moseldalen vI ikke kjente fra før, og er en liten perle oppe i «fjellsiden» omgitt av skog og flott turterreng. Stedet er et gammelt kursted med varme kilder og god tilgang på spa-aktiviteter, og hovedgata har flere små fine butikker med godt utvalg både klær og sko. hotellet er svært sjarmerende med fine rom og hyggelige ansatte, og de byr på en veldig innholdsrik og god frokost. ut over frokost er det ikke matservering på hotellet, men det finnes nok av fine steder å sette seg ned for å nyte både mat og drikke

This is a beautiful property with grape arbors in the courtyard and lovely balconies. Parking just outside the hotel is easy in the low season. The bathroom was a nice size, and the included breakfast buffet had plentiful choices. There is a walk along the Rhine of about a kilometer into the main town of Cochem.

We arrived early than check in and they were very accommodating. Apartment was large and a nice layout. It was clean and in a great location. We ate at the winery across the street one night, I highly recommend it the food was delicious.

This hotel was very nice. The restaurant attached was very nice also. They had a great bar and lounge area. Nice little town to walk around in. The breakfast was standard and just ok. Although they did provide Secco and Wine.

Terrific value for location and amenities the hotel offers. Good amount of free parking, some covered but also cheap public parking opposite. The hotel is very clean and there's a formal restaurant as well as a more casual bar with cheaper options. My room was overlooking the vineyards and was lovely. Fridge/mini bar, BBC news channel, good sized bathroom with good pressure hot shower. Large wardrobe and safe. Breakfast was excellent, very pleasant staff. A good hot and cold selection. The pool is small but adequate for children or cooling off. The sauna area is lovely with bio and Finnish Sauna. There's large supermarket about 10 minutes drive and small one just a few buildings away. Lots of places to eat nearby.

I was sceptic for the buffet dinner. But turned out that quality was very good. There was roasted venison, stuffed turkey, some fish and a variety of salads, desserts etc. All quite tasty and nicely presented. As for the room: I am not sure why the king size bed had to be two joined beds. So there was a 'gap' in the middle. Otherwise the room was excellent, clean with nice furniture. Bathroom was also clean, no smells, everything very good. We had a room with river view, which is spectacular: the castle, the city and at night everything was illuminated. The spa facilities were also very nice. There were not many people there, which made the whole experience quite 'personal'.
