Posizione invidiabile in riva al lago, con piscina a vista e sdraio sul prato proprio in riva, splendido scenario in cui rilassarsi (anche grazie all’orario comodo di check-out). Stanza molto ampia con balcone, anche se arredata con semplicità, letto comodo e abbondanza di cuscini. Abbiamo anche approfittato del ristorante, che serve buoni piatti abbondanti. Il cameriere parlava anche italiano. Prezzo alto, ma nel complesso giustificato dall’insieme dei servizi.

The room and bathroom we had were very large and exceptionally clean. The menu was good..not overpriced and included a lot of perfectly cooked vegetables.

A recently renovated guest house situated in Bouconville-Vauclair, Escapade de Vauclair features a garden. We were two tired and hungry pilgrims on the Via Francigena who arrived without food due to another French public holiday in May and a lack of shops in the area. We also had difficulty finding accommodation and Bouconville-Vauclair is not on the designated route. The hostess, Magali, was simply outstanding. She offered to prepare us an evening meal – which was magnificent, and this was followed with a superb breakfast the next morning. The accommodation can more correctly described as a newly constructed self-contained unit with all amenities you require. Magali turned our brief stay into one of the highlights of our entire walk. This residence is located in a small village, 10 minutes from Laon in the Picardie region. It offers soundproofed rooms, a spa centre and a heated indoor pool. Swimming pool was great for 5 and 11 year old. Nice walks and play time. Great pizza available to order.
