The family running this hotel is extraordinary helpful and nice. You truly feel at home with fresh baked cakes and a pleasant conversation. The proximity to the slopes is also a massive advantage - you go through the back door and down to the lift which is about 30m from the back door We had a few issues with the ski pass and skis, they helped us out every time. Even took their time to walk with us to tourism information to sort out our ski pass confusion as tourism information staff were not very fluent in English. Cannot recommend the place enough

The hosts were both lovely and very helpful. Our motorbikes were stored safely in their garage. The room was more than comfortable and the views were amazing. Breakfast was great. Chateau de Picomtal is set in a renovated 14th to 16th century castle overlooking the Serre-Ponçon lake, in the Hautes-Alpes. We had the most wonderful time staying in the Chateau. The Chateau has been restored and shows off stunning views and beautiful grounds and garden. The interior is simply beautiful. Our room was very comfortable and restored to a very high standard. The surrounding area is so incredibly beautiful. We had wonderful meals at a restaurant close by. This stay was probably one of the highlights of our 7 week trip around France.

After 16 years living in France this was the first time I felt respected and truly welcomed as a customer. This hotel gets my sincere admiration.
