Set in Lewes, 14 km from Glyndebourne Opera House, The Jolly Sportsman offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant. Absolutely lovely pub and hotel. The food was delicious (both the pub menu and the breakfast included in the room price), the staff was terrific (they make you feel right at home from the get-go) and the hotel room was just gorgeous! It really exceeded my expectations!

Conveniently placed on the A272 in the middle of Sussex countryside, this historic 5-star country inn encapsulates a balance between modern sensibility and rustic charm. Our room was beautiful: spacious, quiet, comfortable and very clean. Breakfast is in the adjacent pub, with several options ranging from pancakes to full english, in a lovely and cosy setting. We came by car (good parking available on site), which I would recommend doing as the taxi services in this area are very limited and hard to book. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. I wish we could have stayed there longer. Would definitely recommend!

Surrounded by beautiful South Downs hills, the pretty gardens of this converted Tudor house are secluded by tall trees. Beautiful property. Terrific restaurant and bar staff.
