Sam's Bungalows has a garden, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Bukit Lawang. The accommodation features room service, a tour desk and currency exchange for guests. For the price we paid the room was great - overlooking the river, with a big terrace, comfortable bed and huge downstairs bathroom with hot water (not common in Bukit Lawang) - we loved it after the jungle trekking! Cosmetics were provided for our convenience. The restaurant served good food (better than some nearby places) and Bintang for a reasonable price.

If you want to have a good time and SEE ORANGUTANS this is the place, the team (we had two guides) knows the place like the palm of their hand, they split and search, thus, 2x chance to see orangs!! I consider this an unbeatable technique. While on our tour, we met some people that told us they saw 2 orangs in 2 days, a couple that saw 1 in their whole tour, we saw 8 orangs in just 6 hours or so!! first we saw a teen orang that started following us from the tree tops, then we crossed paths with a mama orang and her baby orang, then a single male adult, then a couple male-female, one more young adult and, THIS IS THE BEST THING THAT HAS HAPPENED TO ME IN A LONG TIME, we were tubing back down the river to the guest house and we saw this HUGE orang, it looked almost 2m and like +200lbs Breakfast was good, super good KopiSusu, omelette, banana pancakes, everything was delicious!

Prime Plaza Kualanamu-Medan is set in Kampungbesar. This property also houses a restaurant, a fitness centre, a business centre and an outdoor pool with kids area. I stayed here for a night before catching my flight early in the morning. The room was clean, spacious and really confortable. The bed was amazing. The hotel has a shuttle service and it worked pretty well and was really quick to the airport. There is also a gym and a swimming pool which i did not used. I reccomend to stay here if you are looking for a nice place near Medan airport
