The area is stunning with the mountains all around and we enjoyed hiking nearby Rutor waterfalls which was amazing as well as visiting Courmayeur and Chamonix.

We could not have chosen a better place to stay. This hotel has been in the same family for four generations, which results in a great deal of care and effort. Our check in was easy, our room was spacious and comfortable (and even had a balcony), and the front lawn was perfect for an afternoon drink after hiking all day. Every person we encountered was kind and generous with their time. One of the owners even called a refuge for my friend and I to ensure we had a place to stay the next night on our trek. We feel so lucky that we were able to spend some time at this hotel. It was absolutely wonderful!

Surrounded by the Alps, in Planaval, Baita La Jolie Bergere is set in a typical mountain hut at an altitude of 1700 metres. Everything was way above our expectations. From the hosts that greeted us, to the exceptional food they served us both at dinner and at breakfast. The views are breathtaking and everywhere you look you should expect to be stunned both by the natural beauty of the place as well as the man made enhancements so exquisetly done.
