Assabu Uzura Onsen Shiki no Yado is gelegen in Assabu, op 49 km van Goryokaku-park en 50 km van Hakodate Goryokaku. Our stay was very restful (fresh air and quiet). Earlier that day, we could enjoy the amazing cultural songs of the oiwake in nearby Esashi and then relax at the hot springs at the accommodation. A delicious breakfast was cooked by the friendly local staff.

Hosts are more than Hosts - helped with every detail needing clarification. Found me a fly fishing guide and shared wonderful food and drinks with me. Location is remote (not far from the bullet train tracks that hiss by - not bothersome) but close to Hakodate, hiking and nice local onsen. Hakodate is definitely a unique Japanese city, very laid-Back, interesting history and on the verge of becoming a major tourist attraction - so visit soon.

I limped into the hotel accompanied by 2 JR Railway people, because I had taken a bad fall on a station escalator. The hotel staff was caring and also quick to understand that I needed to be in a room and resting. They also quickly understood I needed some ice for my eye which was turning black. They also helped me getting my 2 bags to the room. The hotel had a “curry service” for dinner, which wasn’t advertised through Booking, but was a delicious surprise. I had to leave before having any breakfast, but I had experienced an amazing breakfast buffet at another one of their hotels at Narita airport. When I say amazing, I mean amazing. I like this hotel chain, and think that it has incredible value for what I paid. I will be at another one of their hotels when I arrive in Shinjuku.

Hotel La'gent Plaza Hakodate Hokuto ligt in Hokuto, op 19 km van Hakodate Goryokaku en 43 km van Mount Iou. it’s just next to Shin Hakodate Jr Station. Amenities were great including the hot bath and cute slippers. Their laundry facility was super efficient and they serve delicious breakfast
