Stunning island setting with view to Isletas and towards Mount Mombacho on the other side of the island. It felt magical as we were the sole visitors. The room was well appointed and luxurious. A shame our hi-tech shower had no hot water, for this price I expect a high end bathroom experience, the water was cold the mini bar was empty and no tea/coffee making facility. The staff however were friendly.

Isleta El Espino is a private island in Lake Nicaragua, just outside of the colonial city of Granada. It features an outdoor pool and a restaurant on site. Wish we could give more 'points'. This place was the most amazing and pleasant accommodation in the more than 2 weeks traveling in Nicaragua. Everything was just perfect. The location (one of the small islands -Isletas- on a 15 min boat trip away from Granada with only 4 other huts), the design (beautiful colors and functionality), the staff (during the afternoon/evening English and very kind/helpful), delicious food and free use of kayaks.

Don Carlos and his wife were absolutely perfect hosts. They were both very kind and helpful. The place was beautifully decorated like a museum and had a unique atmosphere. The trees and landscape showed they were well taken care and the place was exceptionally clean. The breakfast on Sunday morning with eggs was exceptional. I loved everything about being here and these two very kind and gracious people who made my first trip to Nicaragua as a solo female a delightful experience.
