Blackfern Lodge in Waimiha has 4-star accommodation with a garden, a shared lounge and a terrace. The hotel features a hot tub and a shared kitchen. It’s a great spot well worth the extra 6km cycle off the trail to get there for those doing the TT. An oasis in the middle of dense bush. Rachael and Mark are fabulous hosts. We will be back.

La camera aveva una vetrata da cui accedere direttamente all'esterno e godere di una vista eccezionale sulla valle, i vulcani e per osservare di sera il cielo stellato! La camera era pulita e anche se non grandissima per 4 persone, aveva tutto il necessario. Abbiamo cenato al ristorante e siamo stati bene.

Located in the Tongariro National Park, The Park Hotel Ruapehu offers affordable accommodation in a stunning alpine setting. Guests are provided with free parking and 500MB of free WiFi. The room was heated on arrival. Late check in, but greeted by friendly staff. Restaurant had a lovely atmosphere, warm fire, excellent service.

We were told on arrival that they were fully booked and the manager didn’t know how we were allowed to book the stay through Booking.com, we are so glad and grateful that the manager was able to shuffle some other guests around so we could have a room
