The breakfast is self serve with extras like orange juice. The kitchen is set up with appliances beyond what is essential, so wonderful. The accommodation is exceptional, more like a cottage. No expense spared.

Just 5 minutes’ walk from central Dannevirke and offering free Wi-Fi, Viking Lodge Motel offers - All Rooms with Heat Pumps - A/C Air Conditioning Units, Flat-Screen TVs & Guest Select 50+ Sky TV... Cosy place. Spacious for family of 4. Host was super friendly as we arrived past the office timing. He helped to unlock the unit and provide instructions on where we can park. The unit comes with a small kitchen which we prepared our breakfast.

It's perfect for a quiet getaway, The neighbors are not that close, the nearest neighbor was a bull in the paddock. Loved the cafes just down the road. Recommend this place for peace and quiet. 30 min from Palmy. Small Town just 10 min walk roughly or a 4 min drive. They have a compost/ chicken food container as well as a recycle bin and a rubbish bin. It is a house not a motel, no lobby.

Easy parking, plenty of space. Shown to our room which was quite private. Lovely open, airy room, beautifully decorated and spotless. Kitchen was basic but had everything we needed. Bathroom was excellent. Spacious and well arranged. Richard and Angel had provided milk, cereals, tea and coffee which was lovely. Bed very comfortable. Just loved it all. Richard arrived in the morning to see us off. Would highly recommend here for Palmerston North.

Just 3 minutes’ drive from The Square in Palmerston North, Drovers Motor Inn offers self-contained accommodation with flat-screen satellite TV, a DVD player and an iPod docking station. Very clean and up to date. Not your crappy roadside motel. Very spacious, with loungers for TV, a small dining table, kitchenette, and a large bathroom. Beds were nice and comfortable. All reasonably priced.

Braemar Motor Lodge offers self-catering accommodation just 300 metres from the shops and restaurants in Palmerston North city centre. All rooms include satellite TV and free, high-speed WiFi. Friendly welcome, clean and fresh room, spa bath was excellent after hiking around the sights. Separate laundry room was also handy after two weeks on the road.
