While I stayed, the host invited me to a party in the main square of town when Cocachimba was celebrating its 75th anniversary. I had such a blast listening to live music and meeting the locals. It was so fantastic!

Elena made lunch and dinner for us every day - so nice to have a home cooked meal at the end of a long day hiking! The room was a good size and very comfortable, with spectacular views! We loved our stay here - definitely recommended for a peaceful holiday.

They let us check in at 5 or 6 in the morning without any additional charge and when there was no internet in the town (therefore, all the atms were out of service and there was no possibility of paying by card anywhere) they gave us back some of the cash we paid for the accommodation so we could go to another town and withdraw money :D The location was also perfect - short walk to the long distance bus terminal, less than 10 min to the town square and less than 10 min to the local terminal for colectivos!

The city is really nice and calm, I felt super safe there. The bad thing is that there's no much public transportation if you wanna do the tours by your own w/o an agency. The food is really good, there are many restaurants around the plaza. You can go to el Batan del Tayta, Cafe fusiones, Amazonas 632 I think was the name.
