Located in Mooiriver, Hartford House provides 5-star hotel accommodation with valley views of the Drakensberg. Amazing location,ambience is phenomenal.I would like to add a value added comment.the signiture 4 and six course dinners are lovely but I think moving forward you would need to accommodate a wider menu especially with this place only on the up…It’s amazing but please try and accommodate a slightly wider menu for dinner .we loved the walks and serenity of the estate .The owner was very welcoming and we appreciated the history lesson of the estate and the horse breeding heritage of the place .

It was an all round most pleasurable experience. Staff was enthusiastically friendly, food was delicious and not overpriced. We also liked that the good wine was fairly priced. Spa was excellent, room was very comfortable

Situated within 12 km from Mooi River, surrounded by meadows, Midlands Saddle and Trout offers an array of activities from fishing, mini golf and horse riding. The rooms were really nice and clean. The staff were really friendly and helpful.

The breakfast was made to order and we ate a few dinners in the restaurant and bar. The food is tasty and the bar was lots of fun. We enjoyed hanging out in the garden (when it wasn't raining) and the atmosphere was great. The frotn of house crew were really helpful with advice on where to go and what to do.

The electric blankets and fire wood were a wonderful addition even though we did not need it. The apartment is within walking distance to the nearby restaurant.

This was an unexpected stay in the area after car troubles but it turned out to be a blessing in disguise! We stumbled on this farm in a panicky effort to find pet-friendly accommodation and I still can't believe our good fortune. The farm, and everyone on it, are fantastic. We were looking for a room for 1 night and ended up staying a lot longer. The cottages are incredibly comfortable, spacious, spotless, thoughtfully decorated and well kitted out in all rooms - the electric blankets, log fires, hot tub and freshly baked bread were amazing! There is plenty of space for the family, friends and furbabies. The setting is pretty spectacular - what a beautiful part of the world - and there are plenty of things to do within the property including fishing, hiking and birdwatching. Take the time to find the cranes, they're beautiful! A very big thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make our stay so special. Deborah, in particular, was fantastic and really saved the day, I cannot speak highly enough of her and everything she has done for us - it is so encouraging to know that there are such kind people in this world, who will drop everything to come and rescue complete strangers. Do yourself a favour and book one of the cottages, it is 100% worth it!!
