The hotel is situated in the grounds of a beautiful golf course and being outside of Edinburgh its a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The breakfast had good choice (however overpriced per person) and we did not have to wait like others have said in reviews. The pool area is clean and maintained and was nice to be able to enjoy the sauna and steam rooms at the end of the day after walking around. The room was clean however the decor is old.

The cottage has the most beautiful gardens and the village is perfect with shop, pub, take away and a park perfect for the dog. Train to Edinburgh 300 yards down the road. Beach and Livingston short drive away. It has it all!
