We had been looking forward to the delicious meal we had enjoyed in 2016 but we were sorely disappointed on this occasion.

Dark and dingy. No warm greeting on arrival and no help with baggage. Long wait for a drink in the bar - bar? When drinks came the dry white wine tasted like sherry AND €16 for an average gin and tonic is fine in a good hotel but no justification when there is only one member of staff around, no food and the place like a morgue. This is definitely not a 5* hotel. May be different when the Michelin Star chef is around and all is working? If that is the case close the hotel when he is absent! Finally, not sure a cat sitting in a chair in the bar is satisfactory

Staff were a bit cold. We had broken down and had to be recovered from the hotel. Staff weren't very helpful didnt get offered a table for dinner so just went to bed.

The old and fusty smell. The dust. Dark and lacking ambiance. The duvet that smelt of vomit. No food at all available on evening of arrival...ordered a pizza delivered very from Pizzahut.fr

The idea of the place beforehand. Very cheerful and helpful member of staff ..the only person around.

the rooms were small and banged the head in the shower. you had to be 2ft 5 to whether the shower no one seems to speak English paid €17 euros for breakfast and was told that they can’t cook eggs because it takes to long and was offered bred and butter very rude. some of the staff were ok but my god I don’t know how this got 5 stars I would not recommend this place over priced

The room was not that good I have never seen a room with a toilet on side of the room and the shower and bathtub on the other. Photos should be kept to give full preview . Even location was not great Not practical at all. Way to much for its price.

Location is some way away from centre town. Only one restaurant and that vastly overpriced at around €42 for very fiddly main courses. Decor is very dingy.

This establishment would benefit from being a decent 4 star hotel instead of an abysmal 5 star. Staff prepared a double bed instead of two singles and at first insisted that they hadn't received our booking.com request for singles, which was awkward as we had just arrived after a long day, one of us being ill... ...then, once they remembered they actually had received the request, instead of them inviting us to the bar or providing free spa access or showing any courtesy whatsoever, we had to find something to do ourselves... ...i.e. we paid extra for the spa, which consists of a jacuzzi as well as a little hamam and a sauna, both of which didn't heat up in the time we spent there. Breakfast buffet you'd expect of a three star hotel, with very few choices. I asked for a poached egg, which the waiter first relayed to the kitchen, only to return a few minutes later, telling me that poached egg was not possible. Kind of silly bonus: Our toilet was installed at a height that makes it impossible for normal people to rest their feet on the ground.

Restaurant very likely worth a visit. We didn't get to try it, sadly, one of us having caught a stomach flu.

The location worked for us and what we wanted to do regarding the D-day beaches, but it is about 40 min walk to the city centre! Not a problem we jumped on the no2 bus which was fun.

the above was our main negative breakfast not included in the price of the room booking and €18 was expensive for myself only having a little muesli and coffee not worth the €18.

location was good for our daily trips out the room had everything we needed found very strange the separate toilet had no wash basin for washing hands.

The staff were fantastic. Helpful and knowledgeable. Parking was very convenient. Breakfast was excellent.

Very dark inside. The toilet was way to high and crammed in to a small cupboard, no door on the shower department which is not ideal if you want any privacy. Although the rooms are well presented, it just is not a 4 star hotel in terms of quality. Give the place a makeover and get rid of the dark paint in the corridors. The creaky corridors remind me of the haunted house at the fairground. I would stay here again as the sleep quality is excellent. The place needs bringing up to date in the bedrooms.

Location was good, but difficult to find the parking. Staff were lovely and I couldn’t fault any of them. A member of staff showed us to our room and explained how everything worked.
