Very special place, very individually styled, very friendly host

There was nothing to dislike about this property. The stairs were a challenge yes, but they were fine once you got used to them and there was no need to go up and down too often.

We had the best stay here. 2 couples, 3 nights. We were met by the property manager Yumi at an arranged time. She spoke fantastic English and was cheerful and informative. We did a couple of her suggestions including spending the day away from Crowds in a local park. It was most enjoyable. She was also able to tell Is where there several Cherry blossoms in full bloom as they were quite scarce at the time. Thank you Yumi for making our time so enjoyable. This property is everything it says it is and more . Loved it

Loved everything! The house was beautiful and included everything we needed. The host, Yumi, was very welcoming and informative. Perfect location. We would most definitely stay here again.

Everything was honestly wonderful!

We were met by our lovely host who showed us through the house, how to work everything and gave us personalized recommendations in the area. The house itself was incredible, traditional beds on tatami mats with the paper sliding doors and walls, hot showers, beautiful scenery in a stunning setting. It felt fully immersive in the culture and history of Japan, a once in a lifetime experience staying at Gojo Miyabi Inn and I would love to visit again.

To go to the toilette you have to go downstairs, there is no curtain cause the room gets too bright in the early morning

Being a traditional Japanese house, there was no sofa in the living area, so it was difficult to get comfortable for tv watching. But that wasn’t a huge problem since we were there to experience the area.

The location was great - there was a grocery store, convenience stores, and restaurants all in easy walking distance, plus very close to the metro station. The house is beautiful and it was amazing to stay in a traditional Japanese home. Yumi met us at the house and showed how to use everything, provided wonderful information about the area and clearly loves this house.

The property was well equipped with everything we needed in a convenient location near the Gojo subway line for an easy connection to Kyōto Station with nearby convenience stores and restaurants. Yumi-san was very helpful in answering our tourism-related questions.

Perhaps, the access to hot water in the kitchen faucet, which was a challenge since it competed with the heating system in the bathroom. We had to boil water most of the time.

Our group enjoyed the amenities of the inn: the bath tub, the garden, the bedding, and the inn's strategic location.

There is a Western style room which doesn't match the rest of the house. I would wish they have done a little bit more up keeping for that room.

Yumi was a great host!! The constant communication is exceptional! We were arriving later than expected, but she was very accommodating! She first gave us a brief tour and history of the townhouse, which was very cute! The rooms are slightly different than what I have expected as 2 "rooms" were divided just by a slide door, but it was still fine and cozy. Then she gave us some recommendations on where to go/ eat. We were staying for 4 nights, so she actually came and clean the townhouse for us and replenish amenities! Yumi provided incense inside the house, and my friend fell in love with the incense. We would ask Yumi where they've got them, and Yumi would provide all the locations that sell them. I love the easy and fast communication that Yumi has provided! And her hospitality is unbeatable! Would definitely recommend for others to stay here.

my husband and I had a lifetime experience in Yumi house! The whole house was for ourselves, it was extremely clean and tidy! The manager made us feel is so special&unique! She was so kind welcoming us and explained all the cultural things related with Kyoto and Japanese culture! Its a must stay property in Kyoto!
