AustraliaMaybe the space between the desk and the bed was a little tight for me to use but that's just nit picking from my end, I didn't really have any complaints about my stay.
The room space was quite big for my use case, it was also well placed so that it was walkable to the sort of main street on one end and Sakurajima ferry on the other end. The staff were also helpful in providing some recommendations for me to eat in the area.

The position was very convenient and the room size just good. The staff kindly prepared a room with the view on Sakurajima volcano, as I requested, for the reasonable price of additional 1000yen per night. The window shutter ensured a perfect dark for sleeping.

ItalyThe smoking room was not open in the morning and as you know in Japan it is difficult to find one... apart this usual issue in Japan is the light in the morning entering the room which wakes you up too early.
Position is great if you need to take the ferry for Yakushima, well connected with the airport shuttle and there is a nearby bus stop at a walk distance. Possibilities to select your breakfast was appreciated.
